Nestled in the heart of a historical forest near Copenhagen is Brede Spisehus, a charming establishment with a rich heritage. This building has long served as a place where workers from the nearby production facilities could find nourishment and respite. In 2022, Madkastellet undertook a thoughtful renovation, bringing the house up to modern standards while honoring its storied past. The old dining halls, with their vintage charm, have been preserved largely in their original state, allowing visitors to experience the ambiance of a bygone era. We had the privilege of participating in this project, providing contemporary lighting and furniture sourced from a variety of suppliers, thereby blending the old with the new in a harmonious way.
